DRIVING LESSONS

We can tailor your driving lessons to your needs. We will ensure you learn all the skills required to be a safe driver and pass your driving test.

1-Hour Driving Lesson

Some pupils prefer a driving lesson for 1 hour, but these are only available if you meet us in a suitable location where effective training can be done locally. The first lesson is all about car controls and can be taken with no previous experience The first lesson can be done at any location.

2 Hour Driving Lesson

Most of our lessons are in 2-hour blocks. This is better value, and we find they work better. For many of the EDT modules, we need to travel; to a location to practice the skills required, and a 2-hour lesson allows us to get to better training locations or also to practice test routes.

Pre-Test Lesson & Mock Test

This is a 2-hour pre-test lesson that also includes a mock test. Your instructor will firstly assess your general driving and then carry out a mock-test in the style of the official driving test. Full feedback and advice will be given.

Pre-Test & Use of School Car For your test

This package is for 3 hours and includes a brief pre-test session and practice for the test. Your instructor will accompany you to your test appointment and you will use the driving-school car for the test.

How do I pay for my lessons ?

We accept cash, credit card or bank transfer payment. If you prefer to pay a few lessons in advance we can arrange that, or if you wish to pay as you go that is no problem. Please contact us to arrange a suitable payment option, or to buy a gift voucher.

Do you teach automatic lessons or only manual ?

Our driving school car is a manual transmission vehicle. This is the best car to learn in to avoid getting a restricted licence, and allows you to pass the test to drive both automatic and manual cars. With our help, most pupils will drive the manual car perfectly. Occasionally, a pupil needs to use automatic transmission. We will recommend a colleague who offers an automatic vehicle. We can also teach you in your own automatic vehicle if required.

Do you offer car hire for the test?

We only arrange driving test car-hire for our own pupils. We do not offer this service to anyone else.

Where do you pick me up or drop me off ?

When you contact us we can discuss the best option for your meeting point. For pre-test lessons we suggest meeting near the test centre.

How many lessons will I need ?

This varies according to each pupil and their progress. 12 lessons is the legally required minimum for Essential Driver Training. If you have a good “sponsor” (experienced driver) who is able to help you frequntly and allow you loads of practice between lessons, then you may be test ready after 12 lessons. However, this is very rare. Most learners in Ireland need about 20 hours of driving lessons to be fully test ready. Your instructor will give you honest feedback and will never suggest more lessons unless necessary for success.
